Standard Glasses for Calibrating Purposes

For calibrating purposes in physical and chemical investigations of glasses, the DGG offers the following standard glasses.

Standard Glass I

Standard Glass I is a soda lime silica glass (flat glass) with precise chemical analysis. The Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt of Braunschweig carried out the viscosity measurements in the temperature range of 520 to 1420 °C. In round robin tests, transformation temperature and thermal coefficient of expansion were determined.

Standard Glass I is available as sheets (ca. 80 mm x 50 mm x 10 mm) of ca. 98 to 100 g each. Tables stating data of viscosity and chemical composition are attached.

Price: EUR 200.- per sheet of Standard Glass I plus dispatch charges.

Standard Glass II

The composition of Standard Glass II corresponds to that of a float glass. The chemical analysis of this glass as determined by a round robin test is available upon request. Delivery is a set of two sheets (ca. 80 mm x 50 mm x 5 mm) of ca. 50 g each.

Price: EUR 100.- per set of Standard Glass II plus dispatch charges.

Standard Glass III

Standard Glass III is a borosilicate glass (type Duran). The chemical analysis of this glass as determined by a round robin test is available upon request. This standard glass is offered in the form of a powder (sieve analysis also available).

Price: EUR 100.- per ca. 100 g of Standard Glass III plus dispatch charges.
